Recently, the sixth Chinese Youth Volunteer service Project Competition jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Central Civilization Office and other units came to an end. The "Hand in hand prevention of AIDS, we are together" College students' universal volunteer service project for prevention of AIDS initiated by the Lei Feng commandos of our school won the bronze medal. This is the first time that our school has a project entered the national competition and won the award. China Volunteer Service Project Competition is currently one of the most authoritative and highly concerned competitions in the field of voluntary service in China, aiming to promote the spirit of volunteerism and further develop the function of volunteer service practice and education.

"Hand in hand to prevent HIV, we are together" volunteer service project initiated by Lei Feng commandos, started in 2002, is committed to the campus actively carry out AIDS prevention volunteer service work, guide college students to fully understand AIDS and the basic prevention and treatment methods, call on college students to give enough care to AIDS patients, scientific prevention and treatment of HIV, with love to prevent HIV. After nearly 20 years of continuous promotion and continuous development by Lei Feng's commandos, the project has formed a unique five-step project development model of "platform building, leader training, team building, project incubation, publicity and promotion", and created the existing "1+N+2" volunteer service model. The "1+N+2" voluntary service mode is to mobilize N volunteers to actively participate in the Lei Feng commandos as the main body of a student organization, and strive to achieve the two core work goals of guiding college students to establish the concept of facing up to AIDS and staying away from AIDS, and calling on social groups to practice the concept of caring for AIDS patients. The main forms of the project are voluntary activities such as lectures on prevention of AIDS, night runs on prevention of AIDS, and knowledge competitions on prevention of AIDS. The project serves more than 4000 people, and the total time of voluntary service is more than 7000 hours. It has made an important contribution to guiding college students to cherish their own health and popularising knowledge on prevention of AIDS. The volunteer service team has cooperated with Qinhuangdao Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese Sexology Association and China Foundation for Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS for a long time, so that the project has formed a certain brand effect and promotion demonstration in colleges and universities and surrounding areas.
