First, he will give a short introduction regarding his personal motivation and enthusiasm for fluid power. In this lecture, the various user trends influencing the productivity and sustainability of industrial hydraulic systems will be presented. Starting with current running significant changes in the electrical automation world, their impact on fluid power components and systems will be discussed. Cross-manufacturer standardization activities like Product Carbon Footprint PCF, Digital Nameplate DNP, Asset Administration Shell and Digital Product Pass DDP will be displayed and explained. German VDMA’s Digital Working Group drive all these activities since 2020, supported by leading fluid power manufacturers as well as the German Government. In addition, background, fundamentals and advantages of software-defined hydraulics are presented. As always, he hope that they can give an interesting insight into future technical developments in fluid power industry.
